A new roof for Grays Harbor Habitat for Humanity

In 2023, the Foundation awarded a $30,000 grant to the Grays Harbor Habitat for Humanity store to repair a leaky roof.

In 2023, the Foundation awarded a $30,000 grant to the Grays HarborHabitat for Humanity store to repair a leaky roof.

They wrote in their application:"The roof for the store has gotten so bad that it was literally dripping into the store when it would rain. We have had to put buckets in place to catch the rain to prevent the floor getting wet, and keep accidents from happening. We heavily depend on the store for several things, it provides funds to help with our building funds and cover operational costs.

The store is also implementing a new "Way Maker" Program. This program will be away maker for those who are trying to get a hand up to get into their own place, by giving them household goods and furniture they desperately need.”The Foundation was happy to award these funds and with the roof now leak free, we received this great update from Executive Director, Darlene Triggs:"Your generous support has enabled us to fix the leaks in the roof, which were causing us to keep the product away from that part of the store. Now that the roof has been repaired, we are delighted to have furniture in that area without worrying about it getting wet. Our customers are thrilled with the new space, and I believe it has brought an increase in traffic to the store as they can see the beautiful items on display throughthe windows.
