Community Foundation awards $98,960 in Grants

The Grays Harbor Community Foundation is pleased to be able to invest $98,960 into the community through our 4th quarter grants cycle. The Foundation has long been a resource to Grays Harbor County nonprofit organizations by offering grants four times a year.

The organizations that were funded this quarter include: The City of Hoquiam for playground equipment at the Eastside Fire Station, The Grays Harbor College Foundation for a Textbook Loaning Library, Hoquiam School District Bands for the Dallas Brass Music in Our Schools program, Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation for Tree House: A Place for Families, Mary M. Knight School for upgrading technology in their schools, North Beach School District for graphic computer art programs and instruction, Saint Mary School for Computers on Wheels Learning Lab, Stevens Elementary No Excuses- Promoting a College Readiness for all Students Mentality program, Timberland Regional Library for the Amanda Park Timberland Library Accessibility Improvements project and the YMCA of Grays Harbor for a Camp Bishop dock replacement.

Grants Committee member George Donovan commented that “This quarter we received a record 16 applications from organizations throughout the county and beyond. We are pleased to see the community tapping into our resources and bringing critical services and opportunities to the people of Grays Harbor County.”

The Foundation has quarterly grant opportunities with applications accepted on the first business day of January, April, July, and October each year. The next submission deadline is January 4, 2016.
