The Grays Harbor Community Foundation is pleased to be able to invest $101,769.64 into the community through its 3rd quarter grants cycle. The Foundation has long been a resource to Grays Harbor County nonprofit organizations by offering grants four times a year. This quarter, in addition to supporting nonprofit organizations, the Foundation also provided $66,371.58 to after school programs in our community.
The organizations that were funded include: 7th Street Theatre Kids for equipment and scholarship support, Friends of the Aberdeen Museum for their canoe house project, North River Grange #946 for a roof replacement, Our Aberdeen for the arts promotion group, Aberdeen High School AVID for college and university campus tours, Child Care Action Council for the Raising a Reader program, Lake Quinault School for basic electronics and aerial photography, Pacific Beach Elementary for chrome books for education, City of Montesano Quinn Courts, Community Youth Services for their Summer Teen Enrichment Project, Olympic Area on Aging for the Grays Harbor Senior Emergency Fund and Montesano Community Outreach for their summer art camp.
Grants Committee member Maryann Welch commented that “this quarter we had a broad geographic reach around the county to outlying places like Pacific Beach, Lake Quinault and North River. It’s great to see that very small communities in Grays Harbor have the capacity to use the foundation’s resources to meet the needs of people in remote areas of our county.”
The Foundation has quarterly grant opportunities with applications accepted on the first business day of January, April, July, and October each year. The next submission deadline is October 1.
