ARTS & CULTURE FUND
As anyone interested in music, theater, art, dance, literature or history can easily attest, the arts and culture are alive and well in Grays Harbor. Artists,
actors and musicians share their talents in several local venues, from the
Driftwood Playhouse and the Bishop Center for the Performing Arts, to local
churches, pubs, bookstores and music festivals.
Local cultural institutions range from Associated Arts of Ocean Shores and Timberland Libraries throughout our county, to the Polson Museum in Hoquiam, the Aberdeen Museum, and other museums throughout our county. As in any small community, however, few arts and cultural groups are able to find support for all their needs. Operating without staff, a small arts group may often come precariously close to closing its doors. Likewise, local museums struggle to find support for special projects that would help preserve and present local history. Indeed, without the extraordinary generosity of a few committed volunteers, most local arts and cultural institutions would probably have trouble keeping their doors open. Recognizing that the most important arts and cultural groups in Grays Harbor are not one but many, we have designed the Arts & Culture Fund to help give long-term stability to the arts and cultural communities in Grays Harbor as a whole. The Arts & Culture Fund is a perfect fit for the donor who wishes to provide long-term support to the best of arts and culture in Grays Harbor. This is a new fund created by our Board of Directors to help gain wider support for arts and cultural communities in Grays Harbor County. It presently has no history of giving. By creating this fund, we hope to reach out to the local donors, artists, and cultural leaders who would support such a fund. If you are interested in helping to develop the Arts & Culture Fund, please contact us.
