Cari Jewell becomes Office Manager for Grays Harbor Community Foundation
Cari Jewell is a 25-year-old lifelong resident of Grays
Harbor County. She attended
school in Hoquiam and is a graduate of Hoquiam High School.
While attending high school, she served as secretary of the
Associated Student Body. Upon
graduation, Cari attended Grays Harbor Community College in Aberdeen and
received her Associates in Arts degree and from there transferred to Central
Washington University to pursue and obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in English
Language and Literature.
During high school and since high school graduation, Cari has worked three
years for the Harbor After School program as a mentor and office assistant. She also worked various other part time jobs while attending school.
She has been a continuous supporter of the Grays Harbor chapter of the
American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Cari also volunteers each fall for the International Longshore and
Warehouse Union Local #24’s Annual Memorial Fishing Derby.
The Fishing Derby’s proceeds are divided equally between the Relay
for Life and the ILWU Local #24 Ladies’ Auxiliary Scholarship Fund.
Her parents are residents of Grays Harbor County; Jeff is a
longshoreman with ILWU Local #24 and Vicki is employed through Hoquiam School District.
Cari enjoys fishing, writing, attending local theatre performances and is looking forward to
working and growing through the Community Foundation’s efforts toward
building a stronger community in Grays Harbor. Her duties as Office Manager for the Grays Harbor Community Foundation include supporting the Executive Director and other executive staff in all facets of business operations and assist or assume the management of operations in the absence of the Executive Director and other "executive" staff. Primary duties for this position will include answering telephones, interacting with clients and the public, setting appointments, handling correspondence, creating documents, and reviewing contract documents.
